The Resting Place
2nd Plein Air painting of our back pasture. It was only after I had completed that pasture that one of my beloved Jersey cows died behind the set of trees. She had been sick all winter and nothing seemed to help, and finally could not get up and we had the vet out and he recommended putting her down. We had her since she was 8 months old and I named her after me (Her name was Liza, which is my middle name). We do have two of her daughters. Her youngest, Janie, looks just like her and hopefully she will be as good a milk cow as her mother was. Her firstborn, Carole Jean, is a wonderful cow and is a very patient milker, but has more beef cattle traits from her dad. She is expecting her second calf and hopefully her output will increase. I miss her already.
