I questioned my sanity of mind for taking a walk on such a sweltering day. I felt as if my skin were to melt right off when I spied a spot of shade with a boulder under it. It was such a relief to sit in the shadow of the Maple tree that I just closed my eyes and totally relaxed.
Upon opening them I saw two men approaching. Clad in black, sporting Kevlar vests that had white letters across the chest spelling POLICE. These two storm troopers donning their helmets and carrying assault rifles came to speak to me, a middle aged woman sitting under a tree.
“Can I see some I.D. Mam?”
“I have no I.D. on me officer”
“We got a call on someone matching your description”, they lied so that they felt justified harassing me.
“What are you doing here” they continued.
I thought for a moment before I answered. “I was waiting for you officer Sanders,” as I read his name off his badge.
They were both taken aback at my answer, so I continued. “Do you understand the Ransom?”
Previously they were taken aback, but now they were nervous and clutched their weapons. “What do you mean, mam?”
“The Ransom,” I said, “The word means, corresponding price. Many people think that Jesus died for every individual in this world, but that is not a corresponding price. God’s word says that as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made a live. See, Adam and Christ are a correspondence.”
They both looked at each other with a bit of confusion and a little bit of; this lady is crazy, so I continued.
“Paul tells us in 1 Tim. 4:5,6 that there is one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all. You see, Jesus was a perfect man when he came down here. Thus he could offset the penalty for the perfect man Adam who sinned. Christ paid the price for Adam. When we come to Christ, that Adamic penalty is lifted and we can have life in Christ.”
They looked like they wanted to interrupt me, but I was on a roll and so I continued without missing a beat.
“Do you understand God’s plan?” I asked. They looked at each other and then at me.
“God has a plan for both of you and for me and everyone who has ever lived. Many Christians think God’s plan is only for them, but they have passed over the beauty of the Plan. We are now in the Gospel Age, the time for calling out a people for His name. The Bride of Christ. The next age or epoch of mankind is the Kingdom we all pray for, when God’s will is done on the earth as it is done in heaven.
“Another interesting fact that many overlook is in Revelation we find that there are two divisions among Christians from God’s standpoint. The 144 thousand and the Great Multitude.
“Many think the 144 thousand are literal Jews who accept Christ,” I continued to educate them. “But the preponderance of Scripture shows that when a Gentile accepts Christ, they become of Abraham’s seed and heirs of that promise. And that an Israelite is one who is one from the heart, not necessarily of birth as the Apostle Paul also tells us. These scriptures are needed to interpret chapter 7 of Revelation. We also find this teaching elsewhere in that all priests are Levites, yet not all Levites are priests. Only a small percentage of Levites were of the priesthood. That is a type or picture to show us the correspondence between the 144K and the Great Multitude. It is the 144K (Little Flock) who are called to be kings and priests with the Lord, the Great Multitude do not attain that privilege but stand before the throne.”
I would have continued, but Officer Sanders and Officer Mitchell started backing up. I stood up and they kind of got a scared look on their faces and were looking a little flushed. I asked them if they were alright, to which they assured me they were, but that had better get back to work. I bid them farewell until we would meet again and they took their leave.
I now had the energy to continue my walk home. I had gone quite a bit further than I had thought and within twenty minutes I was again overtaken by the heat and found a place to rest. No sooner had I began to enjoy the shade when I was again approached by two more police officers. I hadn’t realized I was in such a dangerous area that it had to be continually patrolled.
“Can I see your I.D, Mam, we had a call about someone matching your description”
I smiled, and said, “I have no I.D. on me, Officer Mancini, but I have been waiting for you. Do you understand the Ransom?”
